2009 Showing the Major Peaks in Clay County
Siler Bald,
at 5,216 feet, offers a great view of the major peaks in Clay County as
well as peaks in nearby Georgia and NC counties. It is on the
Appalachian Trail about a four mile hike from the AT crossing on U.S. 64
at Winding Stair Gap between Franklin and Hayesville.
Chunky Gal,
Potrock Bald and Tusquittee Bald in Clay County are marked, as are a few
other peaks.

You can see 2 counties in Georgia (Towns and Union) and 4 in North Carolina (Clay, Cherokee, Graham and Macon). You may also be able to see parts of Rabun County and White County in GA. And you can't see any buildings anywhere!!! |
